Heartbreak Engines
Punk is dead, Elvis anyways and Rock'n'Roll is a leftover from yesterday! Yes? Really??? If so, how can a young and ambitious band like the HEARTBREAK ENGINES attract the masses through all genres and let them get rid of all rules and regulations made before? It doesn't matter if it's a Hardcore or Skateboard kid, Skinhead, Punk, Psycho or Metal Head, everyone who likes the healthy taste of hand made music will be infected with the HEARTBREAK ENGINES virus. The ENGINES' excellent reputation is not only deserved by the great debut album "Good Drinks, Good Butts, Good Fellows", whose first vinyl and CD pressings were out of stock faster than taking a breath. Touring their asses off over the last years marked the band's name in everyone's head as a live party force. Sharing Europe's stages with big names like Toy Dolls, The Meteors, Demented Are Go, The Bones, Horrorpops, Kings Of Nuthin, Nekromatix and many more catered their wide success. The euphoric reactions on innumerable live shows, festival appearances and tours, as well as a very fast growing and fanatic fan base proves impressively how this bunch from the "Ruhrpott" aged and grew since "Good Drinks, Good Butts, Good Fellows" continuously to today's high standard. In addition to their king size live success, The HEARTBREAK ENGINES' stellar step from an ambitious Punk'n'Roll outfit to a serious competitor in the Top Fuel class will be nailed down with the release of their new strike, "Love Murder Blues". The new album is the logical development of the high acclaimed 2003 debut, unleashing their typical energy and the right lacing of independence, catchiness and melody. The new material is straighter than ever and Lou's sophisticated vocals grade on a brilliant new level. Groove maniac Rocco and Grischa's Slap-Bass attacks are urging the sound forward like a Flak squadron, string men Dan and Syd are backing them up with one riff monsters chasing the other. Despite the professional production and the catchy song writing "Love Murder Blues" still has enough balls to wade knee-deep in dirt and be light years away from slipping into the mainstream. On this release the HEARTBREAK ENGINES paid maximum attention to giving birth to 11 complete self-contained songs with their own identities, without tearing the album context apart in any kind. This is a 360 degree full length containing a dozen of different faces! No one can avoid being arrested by the extremely catchy hooklines and the propulsive Slap-Bass. With the wicked sound Hod Rod on "Love Murder Blues", the "full-throttle five piece activates the NOS-injection and shoots far ahead of all look-alikes surrounding. "Love Murder Blues" is not a piece of music that falls between two stools; in addition it has a sound that unites different genres and scenes and will surely find friends in all camps. Whoever loves the old classics like The Misfits, Social Distortion, Demented Are Go and Danzig, but isn't afraid to enjoy some of the modern Pop-Punk-Rock influences that are used by bands such as Blink 182, AFI or Green Day, was just turned to his new favourite band, the HEARTBREAK ENGINES!
